Mozi
Mozi, also known as Mo Tzu or Mo Di, was an ancient Chinese philosopher who founded the school of thought known as Mohism. He lived during the Warring States period (circa 470–391 BCE). Mozi is best known for his advocacy of “universal love” (jian ai), impartial concern for all individuals, and meritocratic government. His philosophy also emphasized practical knowledge, pacifism, and a critique of Confucianism and fatalism. Mozi’s teachings are preserved in the text named after him, the “Mozi.”
